GCT
In 2005, Hutchison Ports became the owner of 19.6 hectares of dockyard land located in the Port of Gdynia at Bulgarian Quay.
A series of investments made by Hutchison Ports resulted in the transformation of the shipyard company into a modern container terminal – GCT (Gdynia Container Terminal).
A development programme aimed at increasing efficiency and handling capacities, thus increasing the quality of services offered, continues and contributes to GCT’s position as an important operator in the region not only for feeder connections and short sea shipping, but also for direct calls of ocean-going vessels. Capital expenditure incurred to date has exceeded €100 million.
Both GCT’s current operations and ongoing investments are carried out in a responsible manner, respecting the environment.
In 2006, the then pioneering, modern, modular nGen system for managing terminal operations was implemented. The eXpress module is accessible to external users via the Internet and allows them to view container information, generate reports, bookings, advisories and the detention and release of containers by border services. It is continuously adapted to changing needs.
The range of services offered by GCT includes:
- handling of containers, general cargo and vehicles in all relations (transport, sea, road and rail)
- container storage
- stuffing and stripping of containers
- handling of heavy goods up to 100T with our own equipment
- storage of goods
- depot services
- mooring services
- quay and storage yard rental
- rental of office space
